I (Elaine) was invited to join this group by one of the people from my CWEA class on Investigating Patterns.
The Topical Issues Club is an informal group that meets at the Christchurch WEA on Tuesday mornings.
We cover philosophical discussion, critical thinking, exchanging points of view across a range of subjects that influence how we live.
Come and talk about philosophers, politics and government, social and scientific issues and much more.
Become more informed and express yourself in a respectful, lively and often challenging discussion.
Cost $5.00. Contact Clyde Phillips at
ctam@xtra.co.nz or 027 2747267 for more information
I was intrigued by the group - and - to cut a long story short, I have talked with them about Toward Collective Praxis and that has led to the next meeting being about the philosopher Wittgenstein.
This is why a number of the entries in this blog, at this early stage, come under the label of Philosophy.
I am delighted to have an opportunity to revisit my thesis in this forum.
Please update us on how you have found that Wittgenstein is less complex than you had previously thought. I have a sense that I "should" know something about Wittgenstein but cannot find anything relevant in my brain right now.
